The Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering offers one bachelor's degree program, one master's degree program, and one Ph.D. degree program. Each program features its characteristic courses and explores distinct research themes in Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering.

Eligibility

The qualification of international students is subject to the regulation by the Taiwan Ministry of Education, the article of international students undertaking studies in Taiwan
The regulation on applicants who have dual nationality or annulled R.O.C nationality is specified in Article 2. Please check before applying.

 

Important Dates

In NSYSU, each academic year consists of two semesters, the Fall semester (September to January) and the Spring semester (February to June).
Fall 2024 /Spring 2025 Admission

Fall Admission
※Application submission period: January 15th ~ March 15th 2024.
※Admission announcement: Before June 5th, 2024.
※Semester begins in mid-September 2024 for all admitted applicants.


Spring Admission
※Application submission period: August 1st ~ September 30th 2024.
※Admission announcement: Before December 10th, 2024.
※Semester begins in mid-February 2025 for all admitted applicants.

On-line Application system

Applicants can apply for admission through the NSYSU online application system. 
Using an e-mail address to register, applicants can access the application forms and have to upload all required material before the deadline.

Bachelor Program

Fall 2024 /Spring 2025 Admission

Language of instruction: Program taught in English (EMI Courses).
Language Proficiency
: Minimum English proficiency for non-native English speaking applicants: TOEFL score iBT-TOEFL of 61 (Internet-based TOEFL)/ Paper-based TOEFL of 550 / IELTS of 5.0, CEFR (Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) English test certificate up to B1 level.

All the following documents should be submitted to the Office of International Affairs, NSYSU before the deadline

  1. Study Plan (with research proposal) in Chinese or English.
  2. Autobiography.
  3. English Certification as above mentioned

 

Master & Ph.D. program

Fall 2024 /Spring 2025 Admission

Language of instruction: Program taught in English (EMI Courses).
Language Proficiency

  1. Two recommendation letters (uploaded to the system).
  2. Study Plan (including research plan) in Chinese or English.
  3. Autobiography (in Chinese or English).
  4. English Certification as above mentioned.
  5. Ph.D. program applicants must submit the Master Thesis, draft or equivalent works are acceptable if the master thesis is not available.

◎Some master's and doctoral programs are mainly taught in Chinese, and it is recommended to have a Chinese language test certificate:
(C) Test of Chinese Language Proficiency (TOCFL) at Basic Level (Level 2) or New Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) at Level 4 or above.

If any discrepancy exists between the information above and the Admission Application Guide, the Admission Application Guidelines prevails.
