**General Overview:**  

The dual master's degree, including the thesis and oral examination, will be conducted independently by each institution. Therefore, no joint supervision agreement is required.

**Regarding Pre-matching:**  

The master's degree awarded by Waseda University is based on the thesis research conducted at Waseda University, and the degree examination is carried out independently by Waseda.
In principle, NSYSU master's students are expected to begin their research at their home university and continue the same research topic at IPS, except for exceptional students with outstanding academic performance. As for the eligibility to choose a different research topic, there are no specific criteria or requirements. If necessary, the student should consult with the supervising professor. 

**Regulations on Master's Thesis and Oral Examination:**  

Under the dual degree arrangement, NSYSU students will produce two master's theses upon graduation: one for NSYSU and one for IPS. For the IPS thesis, the thesis and its abstract should be written in Japanese or English. The oral examinations for the theses will be conducted independently by each university according to their respective master's graduation requirements, without mutual influence.
