沿革

  高雄市乃台灣重工業之中心。中山大學創校之初,深知機械為工業之母,為因應台灣發展工業科技人才之需要,在1982年創立了機械工程系,並於1983年成立研究所碩士班,博士班亦於1986年奉准設立,在南台灣積極扮演著培育人才和推動研究發展與產業升級的角色。為因應迅速發展的科技,本系於2001年由「機械工程學系」更名為「機械與機電工程學系」,並積極實踐「智慧製造」、「先進綠能」與「半導體與微奈米系統」之系所發展重點,以符合未來產業發展需求,培育新興工業之尖端人力。

  為落實大學部及研究所之教育目標,本系於2007年及2014年均通過IEET中華工程教育認證,顯示本系之辦學品質獲得肯定。優良的辦學績效更使本系於2008年及2013年榮獲中國機械工程學會高雄市分會「優秀機械團體獎」。

    本系旨在培養具有全球視野、雙語能力和專業機械專業知識的學生。由於台灣科技產業在國際夥伴中扮演重要角色,全球各大跨國公司紛紛來台設廠,對國際跨國人才的需求激增。教學,培養學生的專業素質和工程英語實力,為企業儲備跨國精英,提升國際競爭力。此外,由於機械行業對雙語能力的需求增加,為響應企業和學術界的需求,機械與機電工程系開設了全英文專班的學士班項目,並於2021年開設了多個EMI(全英語授課)課程

    在台灣發展英語授課的本科課程和 EMI 課程,是為了與台灣政府“2030 年雙語國家政策”的目標看齊,同時也提高學生的英語能力,並作為許多國際企業和學術生涯的橋樑。此外,我系積極與美國大學建立雙聯學位,聘請具有國外教學經驗的優秀教師參與系全英文教學團隊,營造國際化的學習環境。 該項目非常重要,它為我們提供了寶貴的機會,可以直接與經驗豐富的專業人士在諮詢、擴展和協作所需的領域進行互動。

Overview

  The National Sun Yat-Sen University is located in Kaohsiung, the industrial center of Taiwan. Because mechanical engineering is the so-called “mother of industry”, in order to meet the demand of professional engineers for industrial development, the Department of Mechanical Engineering was founded in 1982 along with the establishment of the National Sun Yat-Sen University. The Master program and the Ph.D. program were later established in 1983 and 1986, respectively. Since then, the Department plays a significant role in southern Taiwan on professionals cultivation, promotion of research and development, and industry upgrading. In response to the rapid development on science and technology, a new title for the Department, Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering, was also approved in 2001. The Department actively molds shaping cutting-edge engineers by educating students with the state-of-the-art technologies, especially in " Smart Manufacturing ", " Advanced Green Energy" and "Semiconductor & Micro-Nano systems"to fulfill the need of future development of industries.

For the purpose of reaching international standards of educational quality, the Department had been certified through the accreditation of IEET, a Full Signatory of the Washington Accord, since 2007 to 2026. Furthermore, we also received the Outstanding Mechanical Organization Award from the Kaohsiung Branch of the Chinese Society of Mechanical Engineers in 2008 and 2013.

Our department aims to cultivate students to be capable with a global perspective, bilingual ability, and professional mechanical expertise. As Taiwan's technology industry plays an important role in international partners, major multinational companies from all over the world have come to Taiwan to set up factories, and the demand for international multinational talents has surged. Teaching, cultivating students' professional quality and engineering English strength, reserving multinational elites for enterprises, and enhancing international competitiveness. In addition, the needing for bilingual proficiency in the mechanical industry has increased, in order to respond to the need of enterprises and academia, the Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering launched English-taught undergraduate program, and also opened several EMI (English as a Medium of Instruction) courses in 2021 as well.

The development of English-taught undergraduate programs and EMI programs in Taiwan aligns with the Taiwan government's "2030 Bilingual Nation Policy" goal, also to improve students' English ability and as a bridge between many international enterprises and academic careers. Moreover, our department actively establishes a dual education system with American universities and employs excellent teachers with foreign teaching experience to participate in the department's all-English teaching team to establish an international learning environment. The project is so vital that it provides a precious opportunity for us, to interact directly with an experienced professional in the areas much needed for consultation, expansion, and collaboration.

特色及發展

  機械與機電工程學系分為熱流組、固力組、控制組、設計製造組、微奈米系統組。強調基礎理論學習,重視實務教學及工程上之應用,經常舉辦各種工廠參觀活動及專題製作展示與比賽,以強化工程學識及技能,畢業後不論升學或就業,均可具備雄厚之實力。我系目前之研究方向包括:微熱傳與力學分析、微流通元件之製作、節約能源與能源工程、顯微力學解析、半導體封裝技術、光機電整合實務、微奈米檢測技術、超精密加工技術、微奈米技術之整合與應用、綠色能源、生醫機電系統、智慧型機器人、以及智慧型車輛系統等相關領域。進而協助台灣傳統機械產業之轉型與提升,加強國際競爭力。

Research Areas

The Department of Mechanical and Electro-Mechanical Engineering is divided into five research groups: Thermo-Fluid, Solid Mechanics, Control, Design and Manufacturing, and Micro-Nano Systems. Not only basic theories, laboratory practices, and engineering applications are involved in our classes, but also hold annual projects demonstrations & competitions, and various factory tours to consolidate students’ engineering expertise and skills. Whether pursuing further advanced studies or gaining employment after graduation, our students possess competitive strength, and the capability.

Our current research topics including micro heat transfer and mechanics analysis, fabrication of microfluidic devices, energy saving and energy engineering,  analysis of microscopic mechanics, semiconductor packaging technology, integrated opto-electro-mechanical practices, micro-nano inspection technology, ultra-precision machining technology, integration and applications of micro-nano technology, green energy, biomedical electro-mechanical systems, smart robots, intelligent vehicle systems, and other related field. 設備資源

  本系計有六大機械領域重點實驗室包括有:機械實習工廠、熱工實驗室、固力實驗室、電子電路實臨室、自動控制實驗室、以及微奈米製程實驗室。每位專任教師皆有專屬實驗室。共計有研究實驗室29間、教學實驗室10間、教室及討論室19間、系學生閱覽室1間,提供學生良好之學習環境。

此外,本系並配合學校貴重儀器共同實驗室之設施,可提供學生先進之研究設備,與產業界同步學習,畢業後能快速進入科技領域服務,提供100%之就業率。

本系並於2021年建置智慧製造實習工廠,添置約6500萬元之智慧機台,包含五軸加工機、車銑複合機、雷射加工機與3D列印機等近30CNC智慧機台。除理論教學以外,更可培養學生實作能力,使學生具備研究之能力,並銜接產業界所需之技能。



Facilities

Our Department has six major teaching laboratories including a mechanical internship factory, thermalfluids laboratory, material testing laboratory, electronics laboratory, control laboratory, and MEMS fabrication processing laboratory. Besides, each faculty owns an individual research laboratory. To summarize, we own 29 research laboratories, 10 teaching laboratories, 19 classrooms, meeting rooms, and 1 study room to provide a good learning environment.

In addition, our Department works closely with the Joint Center for high valued instruments of NSYSU, advanced research equipment, and instruments. These facilities not only provide our students a state-of-the-art learning experience, but help our students to be prepare with professional career in working high technology. We are so proud that our students graduate with 100% employment rate.

Our department launched a smart manufacturing practice factory in 2021 as well, we’ve spent approximately 65 million on nearly 30 CNC smart machines, including five-axis machining machines, turn-milling machines, laser processing machines, and 3D printers…etc. In addition to theoretical teaching, it could also cultivate students' relevant practical skills, making our students possess technical abilities and research skills that are connected with the expertise required by the industry.
